Aster Cardio Centre in DM Healthcare’s MIMS Hospital in Kozhikode has been recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the American Heart Association (AHA).
According to a hospital statement, this accreditation was granted following a rigorous evaluation of its stroke care program, which features state-of-the-art diagnostic technology, advanced treatment techniques, and comprehensive post-stroke rehabilitation services.
Dr. Venugopalan P.P, Head of the Emergency Department, highlighted that the hospital’s advanced stroke care facilities enable rapid interventions, significantly enhancing patient recovery and treatment outcomes.
The hospital credited this achievement to its Response-Rescue-Resuscitation (R-R-R) system, which facilitates seamless real-time communication between emergency responders and hospital staff. This system allows medical teams to begin life-saving treatments even before a patient arrives at the hospital, minimizing delays in thrombolysis (clot-dissolving therapy) and thrombectomy (mechanical clot removal), which are crucial for effective stroke management.
