Australian Biotech Firm MedArmor is set to introduce a groundbreaking preventive healthcare model with its AI Hospital, focusing on early disease detection and timely intervention. This innovative facility will integrate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual care technologies to redefine healthcare delivery.

The hospital’s operations will primarily rely on virtual technologies, such as video conferencing, to provide care. Additional services include telestroke management, electronic intensive care units (eICUs), and provider-to-provider online consultations.

Leveraging an advanced electronic medical records (EMR) system, the hospital will utilize AI to collect and analyze patient health data, offering actionable insights for preventive screenings and tailored medical guidance. Developed by Core8, the AI technology predicts health outcomes, identifies risks, and suggests preventive measures. Core8 also provides a health screening tool powered by medical imaging AI, enabling accurate and efficient diagnostics.

Core8 has highlighted the MedArmor AI Hospital’s mission to address critical challenges in the healthcare sector, including accessibility, affordability, environmental sustainability, and workforce well-being. The hospital’s virtual care model aims to enhance access to diagnostic and treatment services for underserved communities, reducing both healthcare expenses and geographic barriers. Remote monitoring further supports cost efficiency and patient convenience.

The use of virtual technologies contributes to environmental sustainability by minimizing waste and pollution while reducing patients’ carbon footprints, as they no longer need to travel long distances for care. Moreover, AI integration will optimize administrative processes, allowing healthcare professionals to dedicate more time to patient care and professional growth.

Situated within the 700-hectare Duc Hoa 3 Industrial Park in Long An Province, near Ho Chi Minh City, the hospital is part of a broader initiative to transform the area into a hub for biotechnology and semiconductor industries. Core8 joined this development consortium in August, bringing its expertise in AI and healthcare innovation.

Vietnam has been actively collaborating with international partners to advance its digital transformation across various industries, including healthcare. The nation signed its first healthcare AI partnership with Microsoft last year and plans to implement smart healthcare nationwide, underpinned by a comprehensive EMR system announced for expansion in October.

Virtual technology-driven hospitals have gained momentum globally, especially after the pandemic. Notable examples include the Seha Virtual Hospital in Saudi Arabia, launched in 2022, which serves approximately 480,000 patients annually. The MedArmor AI Hospital is poised to join this global movement, setting a new benchmark for AI-enabled, sustainable healthcare solutions in Vietnam.
