361 Ayush Visas Issued, Union Minister Informs Rajya Sabha

Ayush Visa is specifically issued to foreign nationals whose primary objective is to receive treatment through Ayush systems, including therapeutic care and wellness services. These treatments must be provided in hospitals or wellness centers that are accredited and registered with a recognized government authority, the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH), or the National Commission for Hospitals offering Ayush services.

New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, informed the Rajya Sabha on December 10, 2024 that between July 27, 2023, and December 4, a total of 123 regular Ayush-Visas, 221 e-Ayush Visas, and 17 e-Ayush Attendant Visas have been issued. In a written response, the minister stated that the government introduced a dedicated Ayush-Visa category on July 27 last year, specifically for foreigners seeking treatment under the ayush system of medicine in India.

Ayush Visa: A Specialized Permit for therapeutic care

The Ayush-Visa is offered in four sub-categories: Ayush-Visa, Ayush Attendant Visa, e-Ayush Visa, and e-Ayush Attendant Visa.The Ayush visa, a unique category introduced by the Indian government, is specifically designed for foreign nationals seeking treatment or wellness therapies through Ayush systems. It allows foreigners to receive therapeutic care and wellness services in accredited hospitals or wellness centers registered with government authorities or recognized accreditation bodies such as the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) and the National Commission for Hospitals.
