The Bihar Swasthya Suraksha Samiti (BSSS) has cautioned against any tampering with beneficiary data under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). Authorities have pledged to take stringent action against fraudulent activities, reinforcing security measures on the scheme’s online portal and initiating legal proceedings against offenders.
BSSS Administrative Officer Shailesh Chandra Diwakar emphasized the government’s commitment to preventing misuse of the scheme while addressing a one-day training session on the upgraded Transaction Management System (TMS) 2.0. The session, jointly conducted by the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) and BSSS, was attended by approximately 100 arogya mitras, doctors, and private hospital representatives.
AI-Powered Fraud Prevention in TMS 2.0
The latest version of the TMS 2.0 portal incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to identify fraudulent activities, a key enhancement from its predecessor. Diwakar warned hospitals against failing to provide patients’ or attendants’ phone numbers during registration, stating that such discrepancies would result in case rejections.
To ensure transparency, Dr. Neeraj Kr Singh, Director of Healthcare at BSSS, announced the formation of a dedicated medical committee to oversee claims processing. Meanwhile, BSSS IT Manager Shree Prakash Chandra Jha revealed that over 9 lakh IDs have already been registered on the national TMS 2.0 platform.
Additionally, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Arshad Ayub underscored the necessity of maintaining transparency in claims processing, ensuring that patients receive their rightful benefits under the health insurance scheme.
With these stringent measures, Bihar’s health department aims to enhance the efficiency, security, and fairness of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, ensuring that only genuine beneficiaries receive healthcare benefits.
