Prof (Dr) Atul Goel, Director-General of Health Services (DGHS) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has officially taken over as the President of the Dental Council of India (DCI).
As per a circular issued by Mukesh Kumar, Secretary Incharge, DCI, Dr. Goel, already a DCI member and Executive Committee member, will now oversee the council’s functioning until the National Dental Commission is established or further orders are issued.
The Health Ministry’s Dental Education Section formally confirmed the appointment through an order (No. V.1205/128/2025-DE) on February 24, 2025, directing that all official communications for the DCI President be addressed to Dr. Goel.
This transition follows the tenure of Dr. Satheesh Kumar Reddy, who served as DCI President since November 29, 2024, after previously holding the Vice President position.
