DKMS Foundation India, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating blood cancer and other blood disorders, collaborated with the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) to organize a blood stem cell awareness and donor registration drive during the institute’s annual fest, Elan & nVision 2025.

As the social welfare partner for the 16th edition of this renowned techno-cultural festival, DKMS Foundation India utilized the event as a platform to educate and engage students on the importance of strengthening India’s blood stem cell donor registry. Mehul Srivastava, Overall Coordinator of Elan & nVision 2025, highlighted the impact of this initiative, stating, “Partnering with DKMS Foundation allowed us to not only spread awareness but also encourage students to take meaningful action. The realization that becoming a potential blood stem cell donor could one day save a life struck a chord with our student community. We are proud to have incorporated this initiative into our festival’s framework.”

Throughout the event, participants were educated about the donation process, eligibility requirements, and the profound impact of their contributions. Informative sessions, discussions aimed at dispelling myths, and personalized counseling at designated stalls provided students with clarity and reassurance about blood stem cell donation.

Patrick Paul, Managing Director of DKMS Asia, praised the enthusiastic response from students and the festival’s dedication to social responsibility. He remarked, “Collaborating with educational institutions has consistently proven to be an effective way to integrate social responsibility with student-driven events that celebrate talent and innovation. We are encouraged by the students’ willingness to participate and their keen interest in learning about blood stem cell donation. Their enthusiasm underscores the vital role young people play as catalysts for positive change in society.”

By leveraging the vibrant atmosphere of Elan & nVision 2025, DKMS Foundation India successfully reinforced the importance of expanding the donor registry and inspired the next generation to contribute to this crucial cause.
