24-Hour Medical Services at Maha Kumbh Mela Sector-2 (Central Hospital) During Mouni Amavasya
Maha Kumbh Mela Sector-2 (Central Hospital) has announced 24-hour availability of doctors in the OPD from January 25 to 30, in light of the Mouni Amavasya. The doctors will be on duty in three 8-hour shifts, a shift system that has been introduced, replacing the previous on-call duty in two shifts.
The decision comes after the overwhelming number of patients treated on the first holy bath, where more than 4,000 patients were attended, and 132 patients were admitted to the Emergency. In the Emergency department, two Emergency Medical Officers (EMOs) will be available at all times to handle the surge of patients.
The 100-bedded hospital has appointed 73 doctors, including 29 specialists and 44 general physicians, to ensure the medical needs of devotees are met.
Dr. Manoj Kaushik, Chief Superintendent of Central Hospital, Maha Kumbhnagar, confirmed that all necessary arrangements are in place for the second holy bath on Mouni Amavasya. He assured that the OPD will remain functional 24/7 from January 25 to 30, and all essential treatments will be available round the clock.
