In Sector 7, Maha Kumbh Nagar the Department of Persons with Disabilities is distributing free assistive devices, including an advanced electronic folding cane for visually impaired individuals. This cane is equipped with two sensors located at the front. The unique feature of this cane is that it starts vibrating when an object is detected within a two-meter range, alerting the user to potential obstacles in their path.

Man Singh Yadav, teacher in charge, explained the cane’s functionality. The cane is one meter in length and has sensors mounted at the top, along with a button for activation. When switched on, it vibrates if there is an object or person within two meters, helping visually impaired individuals detect obstacles ahead and navigate more easily.
