The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will allocate 100 acres of land in Sector 11, near Noida International Airport, for the establishment of a medical college and hospital by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). This state-of-the-art campus will feature a cancer hospital, an advanced trauma center, and residential facilities for outstation patients.
With the Noida International Airport set to commence operations later this year, the strategic location is expected to boost medical tourism in the region. The proposed medical college and hospital aim to address the growing healthcare demands of western Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and other NCR cities.
This initiative is part of ESIC’s broader plan to develop 10 new medical colleges nationwide. Other locations include Andheri (Maharashtra), Basaidarapur (Delhi), Guwahati Beltola (Assam), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Ludhiana (Punjab), Naroda-Bapunagar (Gujarat), Noida, Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), and Ranchi (Jharkhand). The Delhi-NCR region alone accounts for approximately 56.5 lakh Insured Persons, making up around 15% of ESIC’s total beneficiaries across India.
