Union Minister Amit Shah announced on March 13 that six new hospitals are being established in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency to provide affordable and accessible healthcare for local residents. These hospitals will significantly reduce the need for people to travel to Ahmedabad for medical treatment.

Among the new facilities:

  • A 500-bed hospital is being developed in Sanand town near Ahmedabad. Initially planned for factory workers, the government has extended its services to all residents of Sanand and Bavla talukas.
  • A large civil hospital is under construction on the border of Gandhinagar constituency, comparable in size to the existing Ahmedabad Civil Hospital.
  • A 300-bed government hospital is being built in Kalol town, Gandhinagar.
  • Kalol will also see the addition of a 500-bed private hospital.
  • Two trust-run hospitals are being set up in Bavla and Gandhinagar.

Amit Shah, who represents the Gandhinagar parliamentary seat, made these announcements during a virtual address while launching several projects for his constituency. He emphasized that once these hospitals become operational, residents will have access to quality medical care within a 20 km radius, eliminating the need to travel to Ahmedabad for treatment.
