Health Minister JP Nadda, has launched the Inter-AIIMS Referral Portal, an innovative platform developed by AIIMS New Delhi to improve coordination and efficiency in patient care across AIIMS hospitals in India.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, this portal utilizes advanced technologies such as facial recognition and automated workflows to streamline the referral process between AIIMS institutions. The system is designed to reduce waiting times, eliminate manual errors, and prioritize a patient-focused approach in healthcare delivery. Highlighting the transformative potential of technology in healthcare, JP Nadda remarked, “Harnessing modern tech tools can significantly uplift the medical landscape and positively impact millions of lives.”

Initially, the portal will be implemented as a pilot project between AIIMS New Delhi and AIIMS Bilaspur. This phase will act as a testing ground to fine-tune procedures and address operational challenges before expanding the system to other AIIMS locations across the country.

The platform will enable authorized healthcare professionals to manage referral bookings, institutional guidelines, and inter-hospital communication efficiently. This will ensure timely access to quality medical care for patients. Moreover, patients will benefit from a secure and transparent process that offers better visibility and understanding of their referral journey.

Additionally, the new system will be integrated with the current online platform for booking Vishram Sadan accommodations at AIIMS, offering patients affordable and comfortable lodging options during their treatment away from home.

Minister JP Nadda emphasized that this initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to making healthcare more efficient, transparent, and inclusive. “This is a step forward in realizing our vision of accessible, high-quality healthcare for all,” he stated.
