Lytus HealthTech has launched Lytus BLOD (Blood On-Demand) in Hyderabad, marking a major step in expanding India’s first AI-powered blood logistics platform after a successful rollout in Chennai.

Hyderabad, with over 100 licensed blood banks and an annual demand exceeding 2.75 lakh blood units, faces significant challenges like a 10–15% discard rate due to transport and cold-chain failures, and emergency delivery times of 3–5 hours. Lytus BLOD aims to address these issues by offering SLA-backed, 24/7 cold-chain blood delivery within 90 minutes through real-time tracking and AI-based routing.

In Chennai, BLOD delivered over 5,000 units and received the Red Cross Society’s Award. In Hyderabad, it has partnered with 12 major blood banks and 35 hospitals, with plans to reach over 50 hospitals in the next year.

Backed by Lytus Technologies, BLOD is part of a broader plan to expand AI-driven healthcare solutions in India and abroad, including the U.S. and UAE. The platform uses AI and Agentic AI for real-time inventory management and delivery optimization, aiming to create a smarter, more efficient blood logistics system.
