IIT-Delhi is conducting topographical surveys, geotechnical investigations, and reviewing structural design plans for the development of an AIIMS in Darbhanga, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda informed the Rajya Sabha on Dec 17, 2024.
A central technical team, including experts from IIT Delhi, assessed the new site and deemed it suitable for establishing the AIIMS, provided structural modifications are made based on geotechnical and hydrological investigations specific to the location.
The Union Health Minister further stated that the Bihar government has now handed over 187.44 acres for the project. M/s HSCC (India) Ltd has been appointed as the executing agency, while IIT Delhi continues to oversee surveys and investigations critical to the project’s execution.
