Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) has officially taken over the operations and management of UAIMS Hospital in Sangli, Maharashtra. This strategic collaboration also grants KIMS the option to acquire a majority stake in UAIMS Hospital in the future. The agreement was formalized between Dr. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Hospitals, and Dr. Milind Parikh, Designated Partner of Ushahkal Abhinav Institute of Medical Sciences LLP, the hospital’s parent entity. The facility will now be known as KIMS-UAIMS Hospital.
KIMS has been steadily expanding its presence in Maharashtra. It first entered the state in 2022 by acquiring Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur. In 2024, it commenced operations at its second hospital in Nashik. Additionally, KIMS has announced a 300-bed multi-specialty hospital in Thane, scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of the next financial year. The partnership with UAIMS Hospital in Sangli aligns with broader strategy to establish a strong foothold in Maharashtra.
Founded in 2022, UAIMS Hospital is one of the most advanced quaternary care facilities in the Sangli region. Spanning over 4 acres, it boasts one of the highest floor area-to-bed ratios. With a current installed capacity of 356 beds, the hospital has the potential to expand beyond 500 beds. Its state-of-the-art infrastructure includes advanced medical equipment such as CT, MRI, 15 high-tech operation theatres, and a dedicated Mother & Child Care facility occupying an entire floor.
UAIMS is particularly focused on critical care, offering 100+ specialized critical care beds equipped with cutting-edge medical technology.Further strengthening its services, UAIMS has also announced the launch of a comprehensive day-care oncology center, located adjacent to the hospital. Currently under construction, this facility is expected to become operational in 2025, enhancing oncology care in the region.
This strategic collaboration marks another milestone in KIMS commitment to expanding high-quality healthcare services across Maharashtra.
