In preparation for the upcoming Basant Panchami Amrit Snan on February 3, a well-equipped healthcare system has been put in place, featuring a state-of-the-art 100-bed Central Hospital, two 25-bed sub-central hospitals, and eight 20-bed sector hospitals. A total of 23 hospitals, with a combined capacity of 360 beds, have been readied to serve the needs of pilgrims.
With another massive gathering expected on Monday, health services in Mahakumbh Nagar have been further strengthened since Thursday. Senior medical officials, including Medical Nodal Officer Umakant Sanyal, Chief Medical Superintendent of Central Hospital Dr. Manoj Kaushik, Co-Nodal Medical Officer Dr. Ram Singh, and Mahakumbh Mela Nodal Medical Officer Dr. Gaurav Dubey, conducted an extensive inspection to review ambulance services and emergency response measures, ensuring seamless medical care.
Dr. Gaurav Dubey confirmed that all medical units, including the Central Hospital, are functioning smoothly, providing prompt treatment for both minor injuries and critical conditions. “Emergency teams are responding within minutes, and all ambulance and healthcare services remain fully operational, even in challenging conditions,” he stated.
The healthcare infrastructure also includes two infectious disease hospitals, each with a capacity of 20 beds, to handle any potential outbreaks. Additionally, 10 first-aid posts, each equipped with a bed, have been strategically set up to provide immediate medical attention to those in need.
