Narayana Health has officially started work on its most ambitious project in Eastern India—Narayana Health City—a state-of-the-art medical facility coming up in New Town, Kolkata. Once completed, this will be the largest private hospital in the region, significantly enhancing healthcare accessibility and specialized medical services.
Spanning 10 lakh square feet, the hospital will house multiple specialized departments, including oncology, cardiac sciences, organ transplants, orthopedics, trauma care, neurology, gastroenterology, renal sciences, and critical care. The facility will also offer advanced diagnostic and outpatient services, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
The hospital’s development is being carried out in phases, marking a major milestone in Narayana Health’s expansion strategy. With the foundation stone already laid for its fifth hospital in Kolkata, the project reinforces the group’s commitment to strengthening healthcare in the eastern region.
Dr. Emmanuel Rupert, Managing Director and Group CEO of Narayana Health, emphasized the hospital’s transformative impact, stating,
“Narayana Health City, New Town, Kolkata, will be the largest private hospital in Eastern India, redefining healthcare in the region upon completion.”
Beyond specialized medical care, the hospital will play a crucial role in enhancing critical care and emergency response services in Kolkata, ensuring faster access to life-saving treatments.
R. Venkatesh, Group COO, Narayana Health, highlighted the urgent need for high-quality critical care facilities, stating,
“With the growing number of medical emergencies, having a well-equipped critical care unit is not just an option—it’s a necessity. This expansion will enhance Kolkata’s ability to manage complex cases with world-class infrastructure.”
With this large-scale project, Narayana Health aims to set new benchmarks in healthcare excellence, bringing cutting-edge medical expertise and superior patient care to Eastern India.
