Even as the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) continues to face scrutiny in the Supreme Court over a plea seeking transparency in the NEET PG 2025 process, a new controversy has erupted this time over a suspected data breach. Several candidates have alleged that their personal information has been leaked and is being misused.

Many aspirants have claimed that they are receiving unsolicited calls and messages from admission counsellors promising MD and MS seats for sale, raising serious questions about how private entities obtained their data, which should have been accessible only to NBEMS and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

A student who appeared for NEET PG told Media on condition of anonymity, “I’ve been getting calls from people claiming to be NEET PG counsellors. How did they get my number? Some websites are openly selling the NEET PG 2025 student database this is a complete invasion of privacy. Authorities must act immediately against those responsible.”

Another candidate shared on Reddit that they found a person on a Telegram channel selling NEET PG 2025 data for ₹15,000. “To verify, I pretended to be from a consultancy and gave him my rank. Shockingly, he had accurate details my name, father’s name, phone number, email, and even my state. This means the leak is real,” the post read.

Several aspirants told Media that confidential details such as their names, contact numbers, email addresses, NEET PG scores, ranks, and other personal information available only to them and NBEMS are now circulating publicly.

NEET PG 2025 Data Being Sold Online for ₹3,000–₹8,500

According to the Media, a quick online search using terms like “NEET PG 2025 student data” reveals multiple listings selling candidate databases, priced between ₹3,000 and ₹8,500. In some cases, sample data files can even be downloaded freely. One such sample contained details of 201 students including names, roll numbers, phone numbers, cities, states, email IDs, fathers’ names, and even exam scores and ranks. When contacted, several students listed in the sample confirmed they had appeared for the NEET PG 2025 exam but were unaware of any data breach.

An X handle named Indian Doctor shared a screenshot of one such listing, writing, “OUTRAGEOUS! NEET PG students’ personal data application IDs, emails, phone numbers, roll numbers are being sold online for just ₹3,599. This is a complete failure of the system. NMC and its IT partners have failed miserably in protecting students’ privacy. This isn’t just negligence; it’s a criminal breach of trust. Shameful!”
