NURA, a joint venture between Fujifilm Healthcare and Dr Kutty’s Healthcare, has inaugurated its AI-powered health screening centre in Calicut (Kozhikode), Kerala. The facility was launched by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, alongside Fujifilm President Teiichi Goto, Minister V Abdurahiman, and Ayisha Kutti.
Designed to screen up to 50 people daily, the centre utilizes cutting-edge technology for early and accurate detection of diseases. Currently, NURA offers cancer and metabolic syndrome screenings, with plans to introduce locomotive syndrome screening and treatment programs for aging patients.
NURA’s expansion roadmap includes new centres in Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, and other major Indian cities by next year. By 2030, the company aims to establish 100 centres globally, broadening access to preventive healthcare.
Speaking on NURA’s entry into Kerala, CM Vijayan highlighted the need for advanced, affordable screening services in the state. “Kerala has an increasing demand for high-quality diagnostics. NURA’s presence will address this gap and expand access to early disease detection,” he said.
Dr Mohamed Kasim, Executive Director of NURA Health, emphasized Kerala’s potential for health tourism and wellness. “With Kerala’s rich tradition of Ayurveda and global appeal as a wellness hub, NURA’s advanced diagnostics will elevate the state’s healthcare infrastructure,” he noted.
Masaharu Morita, Founder and Programme Director of NURA, added, “Kerala’s robust public health system and health-conscious population make it an ideal location. However, rising lifestyle-related diseases call for innovative screening solutions. NURA’s AI-driven technology, in collaboration with FUJIFILM, will play a vital role in promoting preventive healthcare.”
NURA’s Calicut centre marks a significant step toward improving healthcare accessibility and setting new benchmarks in diagnostic services across India and beyond.
