Prayagraj: In a significant development, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced the establishment of its first-ever super speciality hospital in Prayagraj. The project, to be undertaken by the Urban Development Department with an investment of ₹100 crore, will significantly bolster the region’s healthcare infrastructure.
This announcement came following a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj on Wednesday. The meeting saw the approval of several key proposals aimed at enhancing infrastructure, healthcare, and economic development across the state.
Key Initiatives:
- Municipal Bonds: The government has approved the issuance of ₹50 crore municipal bonds each for Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra to fund urban development projects. This initiative follows the successful implementation of similar bonds in Lucknow and Ghaziabad.
- Expanded Healthcare Access: Three new medical colleges will be established in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat to improve healthcare accessibility across the state.
- Skill Development: The government will establish 62 new Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and five centers of innovation, invention, and training to strengthen education and skill development opportunities.
- Aerospace & Defense Policy Renewal: The existing five-year Aerospace and Defense employment policy will be renewed with enhanced incentives to attract greater investment and boost economic growth.
Chief Minister Adityanath emphasized the importance of municipal bonds as a key tool for branding municipal corporations and fostering their development.
These initiatives underscore the Uttar Pradesh government’s commitment to holistic development, with a focus on improving healthcare, urban infrastructure, education, and industrial growth across the state. The upcoming super speciality hospital in Prayagraj is expected to play a crucial role in addressing critical medical needs in the region and setting a new benchmark for future healthcare advancements.
