Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) has strengthened its cardiac care services with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) and the installation of a new Treadmill Test (TMT) machine. As per media reports, the lab will be established with Rs 7.77 crore, which was recently approved by the government, Prof Bhuwan Tiwari, head of the cardiology department said.

The newly launched Cath Lab is equipped with advanced imaging technology that enables minimally invasive cardiac procedures such as coronary angiography and angioplasty for detecting and treating arterial blockages, pacemaker implantation for managing heart rhythm disorders, and electro-physiology studies (EPS) for diagnosing abnormal heart rhythms. The new setup is expected to be operational within 3 to 4 months.Patients will benefit from quicker and more precise treatments, significantly reducing waiting times and improving overall care.

The installation of the new TMT machine will further enhance cardiac diagnostics by assessing heart function under stress, aiding in the early detection of coronary artery disease (CAD). By accommodating more patients and providing faster, non-invasive screenings, RMLIMS is making heart disease detection more accessible.

With these advancements, RMLIMS reaffirms its commitment to expanding cardiology services and delivering affordable, high-quality healthcare. By integrating cutting-edge technology into its cardiac care infrastructure, the institute aims to streamline treatment processes and improve long-term patient outcomes.
