TISHHA Consultants LLP conducted a comprehensive training session on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act at Gangasheel Advanced Medical Research Institute, Bareilly, on October 17, aimed at fostering awareness and ensuring a safe and respectful workplace environment.
The session was organized under the supervision of Dr. Shalini Maheshwari, Secretary of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), and Mrs. Sugandh Khandelwal, External Member of the ICC. The training was presented by Mrs. Komila Sharma Dhingra and witnessed active participation from around 80 female employees of the institute.
The short play was presented by the artists of Bhawani Theatre. The team included Writer and Director – Sadiq Husain, Lyricist and Narrator – Pappu Verma, with performances by Rahul – Nahid Beg, Reema – Atiba, Neha – Sony, and Sonam – Sonam Morya. The stage design and settings were managed by Shabab.

Dr. Shalini shared her personal experiences of facing harassment and said, “Women are more powerful than men not in masculinity, but in intelligence and intellect.”

Mrs. Sugandh further encouraged women to “stand up, speak out, and take action against sexual harassment.”
The objective of the session was to spread awareness about the POSH Act, 2013, which was enacted to provide protection against sexual harassment of women at the workplace and to ensure their right to a safe, secure, and dignified working environment. The Act defines sexual harassment broadly, encompassing unwelcome physical contact, advances, demands for sexual favours, sexually coloured remarks, display of pornography, or any behaviour that creates a hostile work atmosphere.

Under the Act, every employer is required to constitute an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at each office or branch with ten or more employees, while Local Complaints Committees (LCCs) must be set up by district officers for establishments with fewer employees. The Act also mandates awareness programs, policy displays, confidentiality during inquiries, and inclusion of case details in annual reports.
Through such initiatives, TISHHA Consultants LLP continues to demonstrate its commitment to promoting workplace equality, spreading awareness about women’s safety, and sensitizing both women and men toward respectful professional conduct.
From the TISHHA team, Soni Sharma, Vishal Gangwar, and Milind Kumar were present, while Bandhan Saxena, Hiba Khan, Mrs. Ruchika Caleb and Rachit Maheshwari represented Gangasheel Advanced Medical Research Institute.
