UP Cabinet Approves Medical, Nursing Colleges & 300-Bed Gynaecology Block

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved several key healthcare initiatives aimed at enhancing medical education and hospital infrastructure across the state.

Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna announced that 14.05 acres of land from the Ballia district jail will be transferred free of cost to the Medical Education Department for the establishment of a medical college. Of this, 12.39 acres will be utilized for the college, while two acres will be developed into a memorial for freedom fighter Chittu Pandey, after whom the college may be named.

Additionally, the Cabinet sanctioned the free transfer of 4,570 square meters of land from the Government Agricultural School in Bulandshahr’s Balipura village to the Medical Education Department for setting up a nursing college.

A major healthcare expansion was also approved for the Uttar Pradesh Institute of Medical Sciences in Saifai, Etawah. The Cabinet granted revised administrative and financial sanctions for the construction of a 300-bed gynecology block, which will include a 100-bed pediatric unit, strengthening maternal and child healthcare services in the region.

These decisions reflect the government’s commitment to advancing medical education and healthcare infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh.
