Telehealth Services to Offer Free Medical Consultations for Over 40 Crore Pilgrims at Mahakumbh 2025

Online Chikitsa Mitra (OCM), a leading health-tech startup in India, has joined forces with the Uttar Pradesh government as the exclusive health technology partner for Mahakumbh 2025. This collaboration is set to provide specialized, free healthcare services to over 40 crore pilgrims expected at the world’s largest religious gathering.

OCM will manage a telehealth outpatient department (OPD) throughout the event, operating daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Trained nurses will record patient vitals on-site and facilitate online consultations with doctors, offering a wide range of medical specialties at no cost. The team of doctors includes experts in internal medicine, dermatology, gynecology, neurology, and cardiology. In the past week alone, OCM has completed more than 350 online consultations.

Smriti Tandon, Co-founder of OCM, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, saying, “We are privileged to collaborate with the state government and partner hospitals to provide healthcare at such a massive event. This partnership aligns with our mission to make quality healthcare accessible to every Indian. Through the use of technology and our dedicated team, we aim to ensure a safe and supportive healthcare environment for all the pilgrims at Mahakumbh 2025.”

Krishna Kant, Sector Magistrate, highlighted the significance of healthcare at the event, stating, “At Mahakumbh Prayagraj, our priority is to offer the best healthcare to all pilgrims throughout the event. We have set up comprehensive medical facilities and hospitals to meet their needs. As part of the Digital Mahakumbh initiative, we are incorporating advanced technologies to enhance healthcare services. Our collaboration with Online Chikitsa Mitra brings telemedicine capabilities to ensure smooth and accessible medical care.”

This partnership exemplifies the Uttar Pradesh government’s commitment to integrating innovative technology into public healthcare, improving access for underserved populations. It sets a precedent for future public-private partnerships aimed at strengthening India’s healthcare infrastructure.
