B.Sc Nursing Courses to Begin in 23 More Medical Colleges in Uttar Pradesh

Admissions to be offered in 40-60 seats per college

The Uttar Pradesh government is set to introduce B.Sc Nursing courses in 23 new autonomous state medical colleges. Each of these colleges will offer admissions for 40 to 60 seats. The process of obtaining accreditation from the State Nursing Council and the Indian Nursing Council has already begun. Once these courses commence, the total number of government nursing colleges in the state will increase to 46.

Currently, B.Sc Nursing courses are being conducted in 13 government-run colleges and five autonomous state medical colleges, making a total of 23 government sector colleges. In Phase 2, nine medical colleges were established, followed by 14 more in Phase 3, where MBBS courses have already been introduced. Now, the Medical Education Department is preparing to start B.Sc Nursing courses in these 23 medical colleges.

Districts Where Nursing Courses Will Start

The B.Sc Nursing courses will be introduced in the autonomous state medical colleges of the following districts:

Jaunpur, Deoria, Siddharthnagar, Fatehpur, Hardoi, Pratapgarh, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Etah, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Kushinagar, Gonda, Pilibhit, Bulandshahr, Bijnor, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lalitpur, Sultanpur, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, and Kaushambi.

The Amethi medical college has yet to receive approval for MBBS courses, but efforts are being made to introduce B.Sc Nursing courses in all these colleges.

At present, B.Sc Nursing courses are running in 23 government medical colleges, and authorities have been directed to complete the necessary preparations as soon as possible to launch the courses in the remaining medical colleges.
