A 26-year-old man from Hisar, Haryana,  has tested positive for monkeypox (mpox)  after returning from a country  with active transmission of the virus.

He is currently being treated  at Delhi's Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital. The virus strain is confirmed to be of the West African Clade-2.  The patient is stable, and public health measures, including contact tracing, are underway to prevent any spread of the virus
